I've been an animal lover my whole life. Over the past decade, I've cared for countless animals, and for years I had two dogs of my own who were my best friends. When they passed, I felt that absence deeply - and anyone who has experienced that knows its not just the snuggles and personalities that are missed, but also the joy of having someone to care for.

In a previous life I worked as an admin and executive assistant (including through a startup closure during COVID), but I realized office work just wasn't lighting me up the way I needed. When friends started asking me to watch their pets, something clicked. I'd spend time with their cats and dogs, and I felt that spark again - the immediate gratitude animals give you, the way each one has such a distinct personality, the simple pleasure of making sure they feel safe and loved.

That's when I realized: this could be more than helping out friends. This could be what I do.

I started The Portland Pet Nanny because I genuinely believe our pets deserve better than one-size-fits-all care. Especially as they get older, the thought of leaving them in a kennel - surrounded by unfamiliar animals, exposed to illnesses, stressed by all the chaos ...it just doesn't sit right. Your senior cat who needs medication twice a day, your older dog who moves a little slower and needs patience - they deserve someone who will give them their full attention and meet them exactly where they are.

I'm a homebody by nature, which means I'm perfectly content spending quiet evenings keeping your pets company. I put my whole heart into everything I do, and I'm the kind of person who will send you a photo update of your cat napping in a sunbeam just because I know it'll make you smile.

I'm currently pursuing my Pet First Aid certification and certification through Pet Sitters International, and I'm fully insured and bonded - because your peace of mind matters just as much as your pet's comfort.
